Safe in Sussex Big Summer Prize Draw 2025

News, Previous Events

Summer treats for you, and vital support for women and children needing our help.

A private baking lesson from Bake Off star Juergen Krauss in your own kitchen – that’s the star prize in Safe in Sussex’s Summer Prize Draw, as part of the West Sussex domestic abuse charity’s Colourful Cream Tea fundraiser.

Bread, biscuits, cake – the choice is yours!

There are also lots of other wonderful prizes, from event tickets to scrumptious cream teas, hampers, goodie boxes, and delicious speciality bakes from local Sussex bakers and treat yourself vouchers.

Juergen said: “I am so pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile cause, while sharing my love of baking”.

CEO Sharon Howard said: “Safe in Sussex has been providing support for women affected by domestic abuse in West Sussex since 1977, engaging with around 1,000 people in 2024. The last year has been a difficult time for our service. We were forced to close one of our 4 domestic abuse refuges for women and children and also had to reduce our community services – at a time when there was a waiting list of those needing help.

We are desperate to rebuild vital support for women experiencing domestic abuse by reopening additional refuge spaces and we are launching new community support groups in Billingshurst and Burgess Hill in September to add to the groups available in Worthing, Crawley, Littlehampton and online.

We are so grateful to Juergen and all our wonderful prize donors for helping us.”
