refuge Accommodation
Our refuges offer a safe place to stay for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
We can also support anyone needing to find and access emergency refuge accommodation inside or outside West Sussex.
I was not just safe, I was supported to move forward… I had forgotten what it was like to know someone cared.
Supporting you in refuge
You can stay with us for up to 12 months. During that time we can provide the support and help you may need to come to terms with your experiences and plan for your future.
Our refuges are secured and monitored 24-hours a day. All residents have their own lockable rooms with access to shared kitchens and bathrooms. We also have family rooms.
As well as providing emotional support, and a safe environment, our friendly team can also provide practical advice on housing, finances, and pursuing prosecutions against abusers.
Our goal is to empower those in our care and help them rebuild the confidence they need to live independently and without fear.
Supporting Children in Refuge
Children will be affected by domestic abuse in different ways, whether they witnessed it or not.
Our children’s support service within refuge provides a non-judgemental environment where children can express their feelings. Supported play and arts and crafts activities all help children come to terms with their experiences and explore coping mechanisms.
