What is domestic abuse?
Over 1 in 4 people (source: Women’s Aid) will experience domestic abuse between the age of 16 and 59 and the vast majority are women.
Domestic abuse can be financial, psychological, physical, emotional or sexual – and there is no excuse for it.
Understanding the difference between domestic abuse and a healthy relationship could save someone’s life one day.
” Safe place to share what I have experienced and not be judged.“
“The best thing about the Safe in Sussex programme was being able to talk about what has happened and being understood and listened to.“
“I have learnt not to be harsh on myself but to talk kindly to myself as if talking to a friend or child. I have come a long way!“
Events secretary of Littlehampton Civic Society, Angela Tester author of ‘Suffragettes in Littlehampton’ has raised £728.61 for local charity Safe in Sussex’s Amber House women’s refuge.

Fay Millar, Brighton Cakes who judged the Houses said “The quality of entries this year for the Safe in Sussex gingerbread competition was phenomenal. Every single house had some amazing decorations and it was really hard to choose a winner.
