WEST SUSSEX DOMESTIC ABUSE OUTREACH SERVICE GUIDE
Please note we no longer take telephone referrals. All referral forms can be found on our website. If you do not have access to a computer you can ask a friend, family or professional to support you to complete the referral form.
Before you make a referral please take time to read through this guide to ensure that the outreach service is the correct one for you. Safe in Sussex offer a variety of services which you can find available on our website.
Please note that the outreach service only provides short term, confidential advice and support, for low to medium risk adults experiencing domestic abuse, and do not work with the whole family. If support is already being provided by Worth Services, we will be unable to accept the referral.
The outreach service aims to improve access to domestic abuse support for people living in marginalised and rural communities. This includes supporting people to access refuge accommodation if necessary.
Lack of transport, cultural background and living in remote parts of the County can make it difficult for some people to access domestic abuse advice and support.
WE CAN PROVIDE
- Over the phone practical and emotional support and advice related to the domestic abuse.
- Signposting to other support services.
- Information and help to those experiencing domestic abuse to access legal and housing advice.
- For those people who face significant barriers in accessing support services, brief short-term face to face sessions will be considered.
WHAT WE CANNOT PROVIDE
- Home visits.
- Work with the whole family.
COMPLETING THE REFERRAL FORM:
